Why our partners support New Hope
Family homelessness is a serious problem that harms our community.
The most recent official count identified 41 families (including 91 children under the age of 18) experiencing homelessness in Monroe County
Linked to negative educational outcomes for children, limiting their opportunities for future success in school and in life
Causes a decline in personal health of each member of the family
Creates a public health problem for the entire community
Perpetuates a cycle of poverty

None of this would be possible without community support!
On average, 80% of families who stay in our shelter move on to stable housing after they leave, compared to the statewide average of 33%.
Last year, 2/3 of children enrolled in our Early Learning Center were affected by homelessness or housing insecurity. Subsidized high-quality child care allowed their families to work and continue on their path to stability.
No one else in our community does what New Hope does. We are the only resource providing emergency shelter to local families experiencing homelessness paired with life-changing early education for children, all of which helps the whole family move to a better future.
Since opening our doors in 2011, New Hope has sheltered more than 450 families and assisted hundreds more with access to high-quality child care and other essential services.
